The value of replicating real-world situations in your training

Real-life training isn’t always comfortable.

Many people prefer training inside, away from the wind, elements, and cold. However, the results achieved in this “laboratory” environment will not necessarily translate into a windy winter day, when you and your dog are stuck on a narrow sidewalk, forced to deal with another approaching dog face-to-face, and having to be able to heel past them.

How do you train for these kinds of situations? By living through them in a context of a group class in an environment almost identical to what you would normally have on your walks. You cannot prepare for everything, but you sure can get pretty close to it!
